Microsoft 365 Enterprise is a margin maker for resellers

When it comes to reselling cloud services, we know that improving your bottom line is vital to maintaining a successful business. So, in the wake of cyber security issues and their prevalence in the business world, it makes sense to resell the best products for the job at hand. Microsoft 365 is one of those products. It rolls three popular SKUs – Office 365, Enterprise Mobility + Security (EM+S) and Windows 10 Pro Security –  into one hotshot security toolkit for business and enterprise models.

On its own, Office 365 stands a cut above the rest. And although it’s so easy to resell Microsoft services to your customers, it probably doesn’t make you much margin. Yet when you bundle other services with Office 365, that’s when your profits increase. Similarly, selling EM+S on its own could be a pretty difficult sale. How do you convince them to purchase an enterprise security upgrade for their small business? With Microsoft 365 Enterprise, you no longer have to convince them.

What’s in the box?

Like Office 365, Microsoft 365 is separated into two models; Business and Enterprise. Each SKU focuses on what a business needs, so there are more sophisticated security features in the Enterprise models. Previously, we’ve talked about how you can increase your profits with Microsoft Business, so if that’s the SKU your customer wants, we recommend reading this blog post.

On the other hand, larger businesses or security-savvy SMEs are more likely to opt for Microsoft 365 Enterprise. The E3 and E5 models include all EM+S features – such as Azure Active Directory P1 or P2, Azure Information Protection P1 or P2, Office 365 Data Loss Prevention, Device Guard and Credential Guard. For most business models, going without sophisticated protection is a big no-no, especially in the age of mobility which promotes employee flexi-time and a BYOD culture.

Here’s some of the other features you’ll get with Microsoft 365 Enterprise E3 and E5:

  • Microsoft Intune
  • Windows Information Protection & BitLocker
  • Windows Hello
  • Microsoft Advanced Threat Analytics
  • Windows Defender Antivirus (Advanced for E5)
  • Office 365 Threat Intelligence (E5)
  • Delve
  • Power BI Pro (E5)
  • Office 365 Cloud App Security (E5)
  • Microsoft Cloud App Security (E5)

Boosting your profits

So, does Microsoft 365 Enterprise allow you to make more profit? In short, yes. The margins alone make the product far more profitable for IT resellers, especially when you get a nifty 15% discount with Giacom’s CSP program. It’s a win-win situation for you and your customers. On the one hand, they’re given the best protection without hampering their employees’ productivity and on the other, you’ll receive the benefits to your bottom line, allowing you to invest more in other areas.
